i've never really fully listened to this song and thought about it. I have to say, it fails my expectation as a sad song. after reading comments, i made myself think this was a sad sounding song. after listening, it sounds more like a song that gives you the feeling of hope. As a sad song, i'd give it a 7 or 8 cause it still gives a sad feeling. If i were to rate it just as a song, i'd give 10 or 11 cause it sounds great. Rated out of 10.

How is this anime sad? I understand that the most beautiful character dies, but it's not to far off from reality I mean a girl I love in real life is sickly and is told by doctors that she probably won't live to be 35 years old. On top of that it is dangerous for her to have a child. If she does eithor the stress of labor or the strain it had on her body will kill her.

The first fifteen seconds of the song never ceases to send shivers down my spine. One of the most beautiful things I've heard.
