@jakeake14 Hehe... how appropriate for you, being American. We from Sweden get Red Bull instead :(

Cont 1Things that could be wrong include Arthiritus or Tendonitis, but not likely. If you exercise in a very quite room you might hear your joints, its as simple as that. I know I do for certain exercies like dumbbell arm raises or cable bicep curls, if it is real quite I sound like a robot that needs some lube. Both my elbow and shoulder joints can in these situations make a racket.

@charliemyrabbit8 Let me preface my answer by saying I'm no doctor. Could be similar to when you pop your knuckles. That sound is the synovial fluid around your cartilage creating an air pocket, then the air returning which causes a popping noise. Don't lock your elbows, stop just short of that.Changing your hand position just slightly might be all you need to do. If it isn't painful don't worry about it. If it does hurt, see a doctor and find out for sure if something is wrong.

@willieofroanoke Thanks But how do I treat such a problem?
willieofroanoke (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@charliemyrabbit8 Yes its ok to do one dumbbell at a time. Makes no difference in results or effort. Some think it helps your focus. Sounds from cracks, pops, creeks are actually fairly common. Most are harmless however it pain is involved best to have it checked out if it happens all the the time when you do specific movements. Then it could be a bone spur, possible bone on bone rubbing, other things that will only get worse over time if not treated.

I have 2 questions. First: is it ok to only have 1 dumbbell in your hand and work one arm at the time?Second: my left elbow cracks when i do this. what's up with that?
